Connie joined the World Affairs Council chapter in Seattle several years ago. Through this organization she has had the pleasure and honor of hosting over 80 international guests from all over the world. In 2013 Connie began a series of trips to meet with women leaders and emerging women leaders in a variety of countries. She is interested in which communication challenges young emerging women leaders experience and what part of that is cultural and what part is pan human. In addition she wants to gather and share strategies and inspiring stories of women overcoming adversity.
She met with these young sustainability consultants in Istanbul, Turkey.
And in the country of Georgia she met with a group of mature American women travelers.
Then she met with a group of social scientists in Tbilisi, Georgia.
And a Siroptomist chapter in Batumi, Georgia.
And in Yerevan, Armenia she met business mentors and their mentees.
And a women’s center in Yerevan, Armenia that deals with social issues.
Connie’s intention is to continue to meet with women leaders and emerging women leaders here and abroad to share ideas, strategies, tools, experience and inspiration to strengthen their ability to meet their communication challenges with power, humor and grace. By writing about her experiences, making connections, hosting events, visiting her World Affairs Council dinner guests in their homes, and offering workshops and retreats she hopes to make a difference.
